I've only just got this little angel, and she looks so sweet relaxing quietly in the lovely luminous moon 

I stamped the Great Moon with clear embossing ink then used a silver embossing powder

Then painted the inside with embossing ink and applied Stampendous Winter Wonderland and Shaved Ice flakes

The background of the Tando Media board was painted with DecoArt Prussian Blue

The Each Life sentiment was also done with the Winter wonderland 

Quasimoto 5 was stamped with Stazon and then coloured with Stormy Sky, Seedless Preserve, Evergreen boughs and Black Soot Distress inks used as watercolours

A Vintage Journeys Challenge- Wings and Things

 I started with the mini home key holder base kit from the Tando Creative using the plinth and mount board back I was keen to try cutting chipboard on the Cricut explore, so decided to cut the birds and foliage using 1250 micron board, which worked fine on a triple cut but I wouldn't advise doing too fine detail 

I painted with DecoArt Titanium White, Williamsburg Blue and then highlighted with Stampendous embossing powders Shabby blue, Aged Aqua & Aged Silver

I stencilled the TIm Holtz doille with Modelling paste, then colour washed with Titanium White, Williamsburg Blue and Prussian blue and then dry brushed with Moss Pearl Dazzling Metallic

The floral border, scallop trim amd heart ribbon were all cut on the cricut and painted as above and highlighted with Dazzling Metallic Espresso and Moss Pearl

The Wings and Things and Papillion stamps, were all painted with Distress Inks

I decided rather than use as a key holder, to make it a note holder by attaching Tims screw eye fasteners, with some rather cool paper clip type fasteners. These are actually Swivels and Quicklink clips and used in fly fishing

Stamped the tags and distressed with Old Paper, Walnut stain and Stormy Sky

Stampotique Boxes Challenge

Honey loved taking boris the spider for a walk but all the other furrys had to stay indoors as they wanted to play too!

I love making boxes, any shape, colour, size, I was definitely inspired by the weather!

I cut the box on my Cricut, then coated the sides roughly with DecoArt gesso and stencilled the Tim Holtz Honeycomb stencil onto the lid with modelling paste

Stamped Spider girl, Puss Puss, Kitty and Hare and the Calender Squares onto the sides and coloured with primary yellow acrylic and Quinacridone gold

The edges were distressed with Walnut Stain and Black Soot and topped with the large bumble bee

A Vintage Journey- Get Some Texture Challenge

What a great challenge and a great opportunity to study Tim’s techniques

I wanted to do a small canvas 8" x 8" but ended up doing a 12" x 12" as I made a washed acrylic background using DecoArt Acylics Carbon Black, Aquamarine, Quinacridone Gold and One Step Crackle

The main background was made using the Crumpled Kraft Suede technique using Distress Stain Inks, Persimmon, Peacock Feathers, Walnut Stain

I just love the softness this technique creates, the other technique was Enamelled stamping using The damask from Wallpaper & Wood stamps Using Aged Mahogany, Evergreen Boughs and Black Soot inks and clear embossing enamel

The face was Stamped from Classics 5 stamp set and coloured with antique linen, Marigold, Walnut Stain and Black Soot

The headress was made from Weathered Textiles, Birds & Baubles Damasks and a Papillion butterfly coloured with Alcohol inks

The Designs by Ryn Hummingbird and Moth were coloured in the same way and finished with DecoArt Triple Gloss

The banner was coloured with Distress inks Aged Mahogany, Evergreen Boughs, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain, the centre was a piece of braid and lace, covered with Gesso and painted with DecoArt Antique Teal, Blueberry and Metallic Glorious gold

I also played with the Gilded Kraft Glassine technique but didn't use, saved for a future project!

I loved this texture challenge a great opportunity to revisit techniques and learn more :)

Stampotique Challenge- Celebrate

It’s the 150th Challenge so definitely time to celebrate

So Twinkie and Sweetmoves are cutting some shapes at de Party!

I cut the large Pennant flag from A4 watercolour card and then spritzed with water and splashed lots of drops of DecoArt Acrylic Dioxazine Purple, Lavender and Bright Orange

Then stamped Daniels Hearts and Stringed lights with Stazon Royal Purple, and used Silver Embossing powder with the Starfish

The banner is made from the Happy Head Appliances and like the characters and Cup of Fun, coloured with Promakers

Finished by threading some silver Ribbon, and distressed with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks

Time to eat cake!

Clarity Challenge- Its All About The Words

A bit of a last minute project for the Clarity Stamps Words Challenge, and has I haven't used the Word Chains before, it was the perfect opportunity

I applied the DecoArt Texture paste through the following Clarity Stencils
Stripes, Dotty Wave & Double Bubble stencils to a 8'' x 8'' piece of chipboard

Then stamped the words from Clarity Stamps Word chains 3 & 4 onto card then tore the edge and glued onto the Chipboard and applied Gesso around the edges, and the same with the image

I then applied DecoArt one step crackle on the image and words and heavily around the edges and left to dry overnight the crackle effect is amazing

I then applied a wash of Prussian blue , heavier around the edges, followed by a wash of Quinacridone gold, heavier more intense in areas on the texture
I finished with areas of one step crackle around the edge thickly to get larger cracks

A Vintage Journey
All about Him Challenge 

My inspiration for the challenge came from one of my favourite artists René Magritte and the weather!

The Artemio frame was textured with DecoArt Modelling paste
Once dry painted with Williamsburg Blue and darkened towards the bottom with Burnt Umber and Carbon Black and highlighted with DecoArt Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso, Black Shimmer and Champagne Ice

The background was a wash of  Williamsburg Blue, then stamped with Tim Holtz Umbrella man from Mini Muse in Distress Ink Stormy Sky and Black Soot

I used the Tim Holtz frameworks Honeycomb die, which was my inspiration for the frame for the Winged Things Gentleman image, these were all lightly textured with modelling paste Painted with Carbon black then highlighted with DecoArt Metallic Lustre Espresso and Black shimmer

The London Skyline was cut on my new Cricut Explore, a file I created and then cut
To say I'm blown away by this machine is an understatement, I scanned the large umbrella man from Creative Muse and created a cutting file, as you can see the detail is amazing, the umbrella handle is 1mm!
The skyline was painted black and then dry brushed with Dazzling Metallic Rich Espresso acrylic

The quote was stamped onto a piece of honeycomb embossed card and coloured as the image with Distress Inks, Walnut Stain, Black Soot and Stormy Sky as watercolour and then distressed with Walnut and Black Soot

The metal embellishments where all coloured with alcohol inks for a more distressed finish
