Pretty as a Peacock

Love Kuksi

  I love Kris Kuksi work and the assemblage in the center of my crackle heart was inspired by his work, if you don't know him check out his incredible work

 Applied DecoArt Media white Gesso to a papermache heart

 Once dry apply a very thick layer of Crackle Paste and allow to dry overnight

 Adhere the embellishment with Superglue or any other strong glue

 Paint with white gesso

 Apply DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Burnt Orange

 With Carbon Black, then spritz with with water

 Wipe back to distress and expose the cracks

Dry Brush with Titanium White

Stampotique and Lindy's Stamp Gang Collaboration



For the entire month of April Stampotique are doing a collaboration with Lindy's Stamp Gang
Check out their blog and their monthly color challenge too.

Lindy's was nice enough to send the design team some wonderful products to work with and they are offering one of our lucky participants a prize pack. 

You must be entered into Stampotique's challenge at least once this month in order to be entered to win. 
The winner will be drawn at the end of the month.

There are sprays, Magical Powders, Embossing Powders and Tools. 
Everything you need to create some fabulous things.

Today its my turn for the special feature, I wanted to show the wonderful colours and lustre of the spays 
on lots of textures 
I layered lots of cardboard onto a canvas and covered with DecoArt Media White Gesso, once dry applied DecoArt Crackle Paste and allowed to dry
I sprayed with Lindy's Sprays Starburst Sprays Rusty Lantern Lime ,Blue Hawaiian Blue and Flat Fabio
Raspberry Lemonade gradually building up the colours and sprinkled on Magical Shaker Black Forest Black
I stamped directly onto the canvas with Stazon Inks Teal Blue and St Valentine

I stamped the characters, butterflies and Mushrooms onto white card an coloured with Kuretake Brush Pens

DecoArt Leafy Layers


I love this DecoArt Stencil Modern Leaf, click here for details
It has that lovely modern Retro feel, a bit Orla Keily and I love repeatative patterns too!
Heres how I used it on my canvas

Applied DecoArt Media Crackle Paste and allowed to dry for a couple of hours
Applied a blob of alternate DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Cobalt Teal Hue and Green Gold and 

brushed down the canvas in stripes


  Offset the stencil and apply Dioxadine Purple

, Wiping downwards with a baby wipe to soften and dilute

Apply Cobalt Teal Hue around the edges and blending


                          Apply Carbon Black through a stencil and wipe down to soften and blend

  Apply light brush strokes of Dazzling Metallic Worn Penny to areas of the leaf shapes

DecoArt Bejewelled Butterfly Egg


Applied DecoArt Media Gesso to a polystyrene egg, followed with a coat of Matt Varnish
Applied Crackle paste with a brush and allowed to dry for a couple of hours

Applied Paperclay embellishments with superglue

 Applied Mefia Fluid acrylic Cobalt teal blue and spritzed with water and allowed to run


 Did the same again with Quinacrodone Gold dried and then highlighted in areas


Applied Prussian Blue and Burnt Umber to the base of the egg and the stand

 Finished with a bead coloured the stones with Alcohol Ink and and painted with the same colours as above
 Highlighted areas with Titanium White

DecoArt Spring Canvas


Applied Crackle paste through a stencil followed with washes of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Hansa Yellow Medium and Quinacridone Gold

Used a variety of stencils with Quinacridone gold and Diarylide Yellow
 Applied a wash of Paynes Grey
 Stenciled with Paynes Grey
 Building up layers of colour and patterns and adding stamps using Stazon Pumpkin & Orange Zest
 Then applied Titanium white through another stencil
  Then washes of Hansa Yellow Medium and Diarylide yellow

Stamped with a variety stamps using Stazons Jet Black

Applied DecoArt Media White Gesso and Crackle paste to the letters 
Coloured with the Lindy's Sprays, look at that fabulous iridescent shimmer
Added some extra sparkle with Chloes Sparkilicious Jet Stream
Decorating with the fabulous Stampotique stamps, coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir

DecoArt Fleur Medallion Canvas


I love ornate architectural details and this super large stencil from DecoArt is fabulous

I applied Crackle paste through part of the stencil onto a 12'' x 12'' Canvas board

Applied a Paper clay embellishment with Liquid glass

Spritz Canvas with wate and apply a small amount of Prussian Blue

Blend as a light wash

Wipe back on the detail with a baby wipe

Apply Burnt Umber and blend
 Some areas darker than others and wiping back on the embellishment and crackle details

Stamp a script using a complimentary colour
