Halloween Ensemble

Happy Halloween!

Up on the hill in the old house next to the graveyard, all was very quiet until the lights flickered on and the music got louder

Loud enough to wake the dead!

Danse Macabre

Creepy  Coffin!

Tando coffin kit,  the sides and the base were decorated with Cricut ornamental iron painted with black and the detail highlighted with Decoart Black shimmer. Then lined with black ribbon for maximum comfort!
The top of the coffin lid was covered with modelling paste, a fork used to texture the wood effect
Painted black, highlighted as previous. Embellished with a cross cut on the Cricut and highlighted with treasure gold aquamarine
Octobers Occupant!
Plastic Skeleton, painted with warm white and quin gold and dry brushed with black for a distressed look. I added black rhinestones for sparkly eyes and topped of with a party hat to get him in the mood for dancing!

Halloween Haunts
I had seen this incredible haunted house on Cricut Happy Hauntings and thought perfect lets have ago.... 16 12"x12" cuts later and lots of glue and a bucket full of patience
The result, I hope you think is pretty special. I have to confess that I had a lot of help from my partner as he used to make models, even he said it was tricky!!
Painted it black, grey distress, texture added to the roof and black shimmer gilding applied
The end result is fab and looks amazing as It's illuminated and looks very spooky

My latest DT piece for That Craft Place Challenge- Halloween

Take part 27th  October

Danse Macabre

I had a tri fold wooden icon, so it was begging to be a tombstone

I used the Dancing Skeletons digi stamps and verse from the from Charles Baudelaire's Danse Macabre poem all from Smeared Ink .

The beautiful tombstones are from Delicious Doodles

I set them on to a distress wood effect background and applied to the wood base which was painted with black acrylic. The edges were given texture with modelling paste and distressed with ink

Tando cobwebs and a skull were painted black and all detailed with Decoart black shimmer and treasure gold aquamarine to decorate

Craftbarn Aplha Challenge

Challenge 21-Letter L

This is the first Alpha Chalenge I've put on my still rather new blog!

If you wish to see the other 20 Challenges from the start of 2013 please take a peek

The Challenge was the letter L so I decided to do a Lantern it also had to include a window, so mine incorporates an oval window looking out on a sky of bats! perfect for the time of year!!

I cut the shapes on my Cricut which was done in the Design Studio using Over the Hill and Chic & Scary cartridges
I then lined them with Copper Velum which had the dictionary printed on placed with the word Lantern in the window, finished with a little distress around the edges
A small triangle  of card was put inside to hold a candle and strung to hang, nice and spooky!

Brilliant day at the stamp attic with the fabulous Kate Crane

We produced two journal pages, with a variety of techniques using acrylics, gelli plate, doodles, collage, ink sprays and many more....

One of the best top tips when you've done a cracking Gelli design usually 1 out of 10 if your lucky!,
Scan it! play around with the scale and change colours and print it out for collage, that's what the funky birds where made from(Kates own Designs)

This page was made up of Gelli plate on tissue paper with lots of over paint and stamping techniques, and a gorgeous little pocket for secret tags!!

My entry for the Stampotique ATC Challenge

Kitty always waited until dark to take Boris for a spin!

Used Decoart moulding paste and Traditions Acylics for the background with
a little moonlight glimmer( Decoart Black Shimmer & Treasure gold Aquamarine) for Kitty & Boris's Autumnal wanders

My latest DT piece for That Craft Place Challenge- Think Pink
Take part 13th October
http://thatcraftplaceblog.blogspot.co.uk/

Think pink is the latest challenge so I went for something very girly for me! I don't have total aversion to pink, just had too much as a kid; mum even decorated my room from floor to ceiling!

I was much happier with purple magic roundabout wallpaper!!

My creation was inspired by the wonderful altered art dolls by Artists Denise Phillips & Mary Jane Chadbourne

I made mine from a small T shirt box covering in Paperartsy nougat, Decoart 2 step crackle
Followed by pickled raspberry (even Mr Holtz can’t say pink!) followed by a black wash

Beads for the arms and legs and fasteners for the feet. The wings and crown are Tim Holtz Ideology Her tutu is pink net and ribbon stapled into pleats with some braid for the belt

Her beautiful pink heart was made from paper clay painted with raspberry and covered with you guessed its pink rhinestones

Phew!! too much pink! I think!!
