Stampotique Challenge Steampunk

This week’s Stampotique Challenge is Steampunk

Kathi Rerek is our hostess this week and her challenge is:
As an avid reader of Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Historical Fiction, it's only natural that Steampunk imagery appeals to me. Here's some info for you about Steampunk that I found at online. (http://www.ministryofpeculiaroccurrences.com/what-is-steampunk/ )

"Steampunk is an inspired movement of creativity and imagination. With a backdrop of either Victorian England or America’s Wild West at hand, modern technologies are re-imagined and realized as elaborate works of art, fashion, and mechanics. If Jules Verne or H.G. Wells were writing their science fiction today, it would be considered “steampunk.”"

My challenge to you is to create a Steampunk project using your stamps and your imagination!

Time Nether Flies

My third Guest DT Project couldn’t have been better as I love Steampunk!
I was so was soooooo! looking forward to this challenge and I wanted to use the fabulously Gothic Nether,
but soften slightly with the colours and flowers and as I love purple it just had to be!

I used 12"x 12" chipboard sheet and covered with embossed card using a variety of metal effect Embossing folders, embellished with wood and metal gears, cogs and half pearls
Then painted with DecoArt Carbon Black, and then dry brushed with Titanium White followed with a colour wash of Dioxazine Purple and then dry brushed with Elegant Finish Shimmering Silver

The frame was made from chipboard and textured with DecoArt Modelling paste
I than applied the embellishments, one dry I painted black and dry brushed with Elegant Finish and then highlighted further with DecoArt metallic lustre Black Shimmer and Silver Spark

All of the metal embellishments were painted with the elegant finish and distressed with Alcohol Inks, Black Soot, Espresso and Eggplant
The clock face was made from the Stampotique Timeless stamp, distressed with antique linen and black soot and Decoart one step crackle

Nethers clock house was Tim Holtz Rivets embossing folder painted with Elegant Finish Shimmering Silver and then coloured with alcohol inks
The door, framed window, flowers, Nether and her wings were all stamped onto the silver card and then coloured with Promarkers and distressed with black soot

I hope you have been inspired by all of the Stunning Steampunk DT design projects and we look forward to seeing your Stampotique Steampunk creations For more information and to enter just pop back
