Stampotique Challenge

Kaz Boughton is our hostess this week and her challenge is:

I love using tags on things I make, so my challenge is simple: whatever you make, put a tag on it. You can make a tag for the challenge, but it has to have a tag on it!!

The Stampotique gang loved playing hide and seek tag but they were always hiding in places that Fofe couldn't find
They gave him clues but mischievously they mixed the labels up!!!
So he quite often lay down and went to sleep while counting, One, two miss a few 99, 100 ready or not, snoring!! 

It's my second week as the guest designer for Stampotique and the chance to use tags! I love using them usually with just a single image or making envelopes to hide things in! So I though why not make a background made up of the two!

I applied the tags to a 12" x12" piece of chipboard, some flat and others as concertina fold but mainly envelope folded to create the hiding places!
With layers of corrugated cardboard for more texture and torn and embossed card

I used DecoArt modelling paste with stencils and applied more texture with a palette knife and covered with Gesso

Once dry, I sprayed with a mix of Dylusions and Mister Heuy sprays
Finished with Tim Holtz, Distress Stains, Persimmon, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
I wiped back some of the colour with a baby wipe, so that the colour wasn't too dark

I also decorated with die cut trellis patterns, which were also covered with modelling paste and painted with DecoArt Carbon Black acrylic and Metallics Rich Espresso and Shimmering Silver

The characters characters were stampeded with Black Stazon and then coloured with coloured Distress inks used as watercolours
Forest Moss, Dusty Concord, Ripe Persimmon, Rusty Hinge, Walnut Stain, Black Soot
Fofes tag bed was a label stencilled with the Tim Holtz Lattice and coloured with distress inks

Once dry, I used a embossing ball tool on them to achieve a slightly 3D effect as the whole piece is so structured and textural
