Stampotique Pink and Turquoise Polka Dot Challenge

This week's Stampotique challenge is hosted by Sam Read and her challenge is:

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my love for polka dots. Almost every thing I own is dotty!

Polka dots are great fun as a main feature or as a delicate accent to artwork. My other love is my favourite colour combination, pink and turquoise. So for this weeks challenge I'm inviting you to have fun with my favourite things: Pink, Turquoise and Polka Dots! I can't wait to see your creations, so get your rubber out and have lots of fun creating :)

Sky Blue Turquoise and Pink Polka Dots
I don't often use pink but when I do I like cerise tones, I love turquoise and the combination of the two is great fun, really zingy!!

It's my last Guest Designer Challenge so I thought I'd go out with a bit of sparkle too! thanks to Tim Holts Peacock feathers distress glitter!!

The background was embossed polka dot card mounted onto a 12"x 12" Chipboard sheet

I created a graduated effect with DecoArt Aquamarine and Vivid Violet
Starting with the Aquamarine at the top and working down with the pink and a little Dioxazine purple at the bottom to add depth

I painted sheets of Turquoise and pink to cut the polka dots, and flowers

The main image Stampotique Leopard Queen stamped onto card washed with vivid Violet and Baby Pink, She looks to be meditating and in a good place so the quote seemed perfect

The flowers were Tenticurl, Seaweed, Dandelion, Stalks, Lavender, Daisy Daisy and Spidergrass with Honeycomb

I've had a fabulous time as a Guest DT for Stampotique, and look forward to carrying on doing future challenges

I hope you have been inspired by all of the Stunning Pink and Turquoise Polka dot DT design projects and  look forward to seeing your creations

  2. You have, indeed, created a mysterious-looking garden, Jools, and I love it! Great way to combine the required details, but yet the Leopard Queen is sitting pretty atop it all. Great embossed polka dots in your background, too! So very well done!
