Day 2 Project
This week’s Collaboration and we have been using the fabulous Stampendous Stamps and Stampendous Frantage Embossing Powders and Mica Flakes from the amazing Encrusted Jewel Kits
I decided to do some Home Decor for this project as the stamps are so beautiful, and it was about time I put my hand to some sewing!
I used the stamps with DecoArt So Soft
these are cool just like acrylics
I brushed the colours directly onto the stamps
randomly and mixed up as I wanted a shaded effect and not one solid colour they dry pretty quick
They are soft, like fabric dyes, but do not require the addition of a medium or heat setting
I used a light weight fabric as I wanted it to fray, then
cut roughly into circles and used a wire distressing tool and scissors
These were applied with machine sewing straight, zig zag and some embroidery stitches
I also used a very fine light weight silver grey voile fabric sometimes stitched under the shapes or over the top
Sometimes as overlays in the centre to create pockets to hold the Frantage Mica
flakes I used very tiny stitches on these and stitched around a couple of times
This creates a purely decorative finish and would be wipe clean only
The buttons were made using the same stamps and shrink
plastic, stamp them then use a hole punch for the holes before you use the heat
tool to shrink! I have a lot with no holes!!
These were coloured with Alcohol inks and hand stitched with
Thank for hopping over and please check out the others on today's blog hop
