A Vintage Journey Challenge- Use Every Stamp in a Set!

A Vintage Journey

The Fabulous new Challenge is to use every stamp in a set and my first as part of the Design Team!

A Vintage Dress for my Vintage Journey

I love the Tim Holtz Urban Chic Stamp Set quite a challenge as there are 11 in total, but they do all work together beautifully

I decided to decorate a Polystyrene dress form, started by coating with DecoArt Gesso

The detail on the neck was stamped onto tissue and applied with Deco-Page Matt Finish

Then washed with Quinacridone gold, once dry applied DecoArt One step crackle
Allow to dry and crack for a couple of hours, I then applied Burnt Umber to fill the cracks then wiped away the excess and finished with a layer of Deco-Page Matt Finish

For the Skirt, I folded  2 x 12" x 12" tissue paper, the overlay helped to stiffen
I stamped all of the stamps to form a repeat pattern

Masking out areas with masking fluid that I wanted to keep white
I then coloured with a variety of Dylusions sprays and allowed to dry, this creates a lovely semi translucent feel

Once dry I removed the masking fluid by rubbing gently and then used Quinacridone Gold and Burnt Umber to colour the areas
Once dry, I scored every 1/2" and pleated then joined the two pieces together end to end
This was gathered and pined to the dress form, and finished with a ribbon that was coloured to match using DecoArt So Soft paints

The butterfly wings were stamped using the foliage spring from the set and the larger version cut around and given a Quinacridone gold wash, distressed with Old Paper,Walnut Stain

I distresses the backs with Forest Moss, Walnut Stain & Black Soot

For the dress corset I cut a template to see how to fit it around the dress form, ready to replicate on the finished section

The Corset was stamped onto card using the larger version of the Heart and painted with Quinacridone Gold, Burnt Umber, Quinacridone Burnt Orange and Burgundy and distressed with Walnut Stain and Black Soot
I also applied DecoArt Ones Step crackle to the Heart, once dry applied a little burnt umber and wiped off the excess
The back was created by weaving the stripes alternatively
Thank you for looking, and we look forward to seeing you projects for the challenge
