I love using old newspapers but I cant bear to tear up a book, so keeping it Stampotique I used the French Script as my background
I started by stamping Stampotique Spiral Velvet Chair, then stamping Puss Puss and masking off the background to stamp Daniels Hearts on the chair and then masked the chair and stamped the text
I then coloured with watercolours and Distress Inks
Take a seat and read your favourite book!
Brilliant card Jools! I love the "heart-chair" :)

Music to my ears.... I still cannot/will not tear up old books! Just can't do it?
ReplyDeleteYour use of script stamp & the masking is wonderful. The somewhat naive heart stamp, the hilarious but oh so cute cat on the cool, quirky chair (looks like a couch to me), all comes together....
Your choice of colour is great too. The shading around the 'chair/couch' illuminates (is that right word?) from darker shadows of corners, pushing chair with cat forward. But you know all that, a skill you have & I need to keep practicing! Luurvve Stampotique, only wish I could buy all of stamps! This is fun, funky & clever! Tfs :)
Brilliant Jools love how you have masked all the stamping. Your upholstery skills are wonderful, I want that chair lol.

I just don't tear up any old book but I do read a lot and if I find a paperback that I really don't like I use it for my crafting. I see it as recycling ! Anyway, I love what you made Jools, as always and I think it is great that you joined me in my chalenge !

Love that background stamp Jools but the chair is great and of course every comfy chair should have its own cat.

ReplyDeleteLove how you have used the velvet chair, Jools, especially using Daniel's Hearts as your "fabric" for the chair! Very artsy shading here, too! Thanks so much for participating in the Stampotique Designers' Challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteGreat masking and finished piece. xx
