Stampotique in honour of a Legend

"Purple Rain"

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted one time to see you laughing
I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain

Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain

I only want to see you bathing in the purple rain
I never wanted to be your weekend lover
I only wanted to be some kind of friend
Baby I could never steal you from another
It's such a shame our friendship had to end

Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain

I only want to see you underneath the purple rain
Honey I know, I know, I know times are changing
It's time we all reach out for something new
That means you too
You say you want a leader
But you can't seem to make up your mind
I think you better close it
And let me guide you to the purple rain

Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain

If you know what I'm singing about up here
C'mon raise your hand

Purple rain Purple rain

I only want to see you, only want to see you
In the purple rain

In Honor of a true icon and legend
I found this on Facebook which is incredibly clever and fitting

I FEEL FOR YOU.
I heard this while I was diving down ALPHABET STREET in my LITTLE RED CORVETTE and I was thinking BREAKFAST CAN WAIT.
I pulled over and started to BREAKDOWN.
I mean I cried all over my PINK CASHMERE.
So I called THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD to let her know.
He was always a real PARTYMAN.
I mean he really lived the POP LIFE.
He was always the first to say LET'S GO CRAZY and party like it's '1999'.
I guess this is A SIGN 'O' THE TIMES.
I was thinking to clear my head by driving through the MOUNTAINS and really take in the beauty of AMERICA.
I'm sure we will all read about it tomorrow in the MORNING PAPERS.
I'm sure there are people so distraught over this they are yelling TAKE ME WITH YOU and I WOULD DIE 4 U.
Take solace in the fact that he is now in THE ARMS OF ORION and has found peace.
So while my tears fall like PURPLE RAIN I remember one hell of an entertainer.

  2. Wonderful Jools. My daughter was in high school when Prinz hit the scene big time - I well remember his music. We are all saddened by the death not only of a talented musician but a very nice person.
