Tag Monday
I've long admired the Brett Weldel stamps and have finally started to acquire them
So I was keen to use this rather dapper chap from Music Man with lots of texture and distress
I stencilled Tims Holtz Gothic with modelling paste and applied Gesso
I stamped the diamonds from Classic #3
and brushed DecoArt crackle paint in vertical strokes which creates a fabulous fine crackle
Applied Distress stains, Barn Door, Walnut Stain, Honey Gold,
and Distress Inks, Forrest Moss, Walnut Stain, Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Black Soot
The Dapper Chap was stamped and coloured with the same distress inks used as watercolours with additional colours, Pumice Stone, Crushed Olive and Aged Mahogany
Finished with a coat of DecoArt Triple thick gloss, glossy accents could also be used
The word was stamped form Dandy Robots and aged with Antique Linen, Walnut and Black soot finished with crackle glaze
Mounted behind an ideology Ornate plate and attached a
Swivel clasp with a screw brad
Hope you have enjoyed my tag and all of the fantastic Creative Guides too

One of the things i admire about your style is how you are not afraid to use a lot of black and the darker colours of the spectrum.
ReplyDeleteTour Tag is genius, love the warm colours, textures and am glad you are collecting new images which you love.
Wanting to try the triple embossing glaze, glad to find you have used it on your project.

ReplyDeleteThis is so much more than a tag, Jools. It's is truly a piece of art. I think Brett Weldel stamps are an "acquired taste," much like Stampotique stamps. But, the combination of your backgrounds and his stamps bring a new face to art in my book. Just amazing!
ReplyDeleteHe looks fantastic, a really commanding ringmaster, and the fiery background makes him look almost demonic! Such drama, such texture, such colour... Love it!
